Film yang disutradarai oleh Alam Rengga Surawidjaja ini dibintangi antara lain oleh Kaharuddin Syah, Deddy Sutomo dan Sutopo H.S. Film ini merupakan film kedua tentang peristiwa Serangan Umum 1 Maret 1949 (sebelumnya film Enam Jam di Jogja yang di produksi 1951). Film ini bisa dibilang film dengan biaya termahal saat itu, sekitar 375 juta dan sempat macet sebulan saat syuting karena kehabisan biaya.
